Alright so time and time again I've been getting request and questions about one of our "secret" locations. Well in reality it isn't really all that secret, in fact many other photographers know the location very well. What makes this location oh so special are the brilliant colors, beautiful works and its architect. 5 POINTZ became an enormous canvas for graffiti writers from all over. In 1993 it was discovered and called the “Phun Factory” by Pat DiLillo. The main purpose of this building was to encourage graffiti writers to showcase their art work on the building instead of vandalizing other property. So without further a due, here is what you guys all been waiting for...

The 40oz Experience Pt.1

40oz Bounce is an event that is hosted in Manhattan and Brooklyn every year during the summer. We had the opportunity to head over and see what is it all about. This clip shows our travel to the event and our brief interaction with it. When we got there it was definitely a good ambiance and the weather was complementing it as well. Unfortunately the "authorities" felt that they needed to break it up because it became "unsafe". Sometimes I don't understand why when people get together and try to enjoy themselves in a care free matter, there always have to be "order". The care for safety is understandable, but when it is because there is no permit or there's too many people they decide to shut something down. Thats when it gets annoying and becomes a drag. Fortunately for us [Lumno] it was only the beginning. This is only the first part of the day. To be continued...

Thank Me Never

Word of mouth spreads pretty quickly "Sounds Like Paper 2010" was the go to event in New York City this afternoon. After waiting for one of the most anticipated albums of the year to be officially put out for sale; there was a free concert that Drake was going to attend. Along with the "mmbop boys" Hanson, and up and coming Crunk/Punk artist Ninjasonik. Drake was scheduled to preform at the free concert. Unfortunately when the word free is used people tend to come by the thousands. NYPD estimated about 20+ thousand people in the crowd. Lumno Media was there firsthand to see the chaos take place. So there's no doubt that I'm a very driven and ambitious person. My love for art started when I was 5years old. Always seeing my brothers drawing comic book characters and Japanese anime caught my eye and made me want to draw. As my abilities grew I took my talent into a different direction; into graffiti. In which throughout time got the privilege and pleasure to collaborate with some of the best writers. Growing up I was always the book smart kid who got straight As on everything. My older brother who was also smart, could draw so he was pinned as the "artistic" one. I was thrust into the world of academics while he was more relaxed and into his drawings. I took karate classes, he took a painting course. My artistic views were cast into his shadow. As I grew older into high school I met Nelson. He was into this graffiti thing that let my imagination run wild. This is where I let my artistic side really show. Started with sketching my ideas down to now trying new things on a MacBook. Through Nelson is where I met the rest of the Lumno family. They say you can tell a lot about a person by the company you keep, and I can say I'm glad to be in the company of creative geniuses alike.

I was born on the two-hundred fifty-first day of the year nineteen eighty-nine. Lived in Harlem for a short bit of my life then moved to the Bronx. At the age of fifteen I moved back to the place I'll always call home, Harlem. Growing up my house was a typical single parent home with one sibling. At the age of nine I became the only child in my household, and had to learn things the hard way. I was always the kid to do things against the grain. Never settle for the predictable thing and make sure that no matter what, with every interaction I came across I always made a lasting impression. I accustomed myself into embracing change and loving it for what it brings. With change I stumbled upon people that to this day I will always have their back and vice versa. In the year two thousand and five I was introduced to four individuals that I call my brothers. Not because we are friends, or partners, but because it's a genuine feeling. Together we form a group of five characters/personas/individuals that make LUMNO possible. LUMNO is something that illuminates ideas, it's not a company, but a lifestyle. A lifestyle of change that is always amending the things people see that are the norm and turning it into a vision. A vision that words can’t express, when seen there's nothing to question, but everything's understood.
